Your Privacy Choices

Everything you can control about how ExitOpp handles your information, in one place. You do not need to be a registered candidate to use this page, and using it will never affect how we consider you for a role.

Make a request

Remove your information from our databases and our newsletter provider.

Use the address you gave us. We'll send a link there to confirm it's really you before we do anything.

This only sets the deadline we hold ourselves to. You get the same rights either way.

Choose what you want, confirm your email address through the link we send you, and we handle the rest automatically. You do not need an account. If you would rather email, write to cam@exitopp.com. Email requests go into the same tracked system, with the same deadlines.

Delete my data

You can ask us to remove your information from our databases at any time. We will email you a link to confirm it is really you, and then it happens automatically.

Please note two things: information a prospective employer has already received cannot be retrieved by us, and we keep a minimal record of your email address, stored as a one-way hash, not the address itself, so we do not contact you or rebuild your profile from public sources again. Section 14.4 of our Privacy Policy explains the full list of exceptions.

Do not sell or share my personal information

We do not sell your information for money, and we do not run advertising pixels, audience measurement tags, or any other cross-context tracking technology on this site. The only analytics we use is Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies, stores no IP address, and cannot follow you to any other website.

Because of that there is currently nothing here to opt out of. You can still submit the request above, and we will record it so that it binds us if that ever changes.

Global Privacy Control

We recognize and honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) and other browser- or device-level universal opt-out signals as a valid opt-out of sale, sharing, and targeted advertising. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we disable analytics for that browser and you do not need to do anything else on this page. Because these signals are not tied to your identity, submit a request above if you want the opt-out applied to your candidate record across every device.

Limit the use of my sensitive personal information

This website collects no sensitive personal information: there are no work authorization, demographic, or accommodation fields on any form here. Where we do hold work authorization status elsewhere, we disclose it to a prospective employer only where it is necessary to evaluate your eligibility for a role you have indicated interest in. We never sell or share sensitive information, and we never use it to infer characteristics about you.

Never source my information at all

We sometimes build candidate records from public professional sources. If you would rather we never do that, choose “Never source my information” above. We will add you to a do-not-source suppression list and will not build a record on you. You can do this even if we hold nothing about you today.

Access, correct, or port my information

  • Access: get a copy of what we hold about you, where it came from, and who we disclosed it to.
  • Correct: fix anything inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Port: receive your information in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Restrict sharing: ask us to seek your explicit approval before each submission to an employer, or to present you to employers on a blinded basis first.

Stop marketing emails

Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also use the form above, or email cam@exitopp.com with the subject line “Unsubscribe.” Messages about an active candidacy (scheduling, feedback, process updates) are service communications rather than marketing; tell us if you want those to stop too.

How we handle your request

We acknowledge every request immediately and complete it within 45 days where a U.S. state privacy law applies, 30 days under Canada's PIPEDA or Quebec's Law 25, and one month under the EU or UK GDPR, extendable only as those laws permit, and only with notice to you. In practice most requests are finished within seconds of you confirming your email address.

We must verify your identity first, which we do by sending a one-time link to the address your request concerns. We do not charge for responding to requests, and we will never discriminate or retaliate against you for making one.

You may use an authorized agent. We will ask for written proof of authorization signed by you, and we may ask you to confirm it directly. An agent acting under a valid power of attorney need not provide separate written authorization.

If we say no

We will tell you why. You can appeal by replying to our response or emailing cam@exitopp.com with the subject line “Privacy Appeal.” We will respond in writing within 45 days. If we deny your appeal, we will give you a way to contact your state Attorney General.

You may also complain to a regulator directly: your state Attorney General or the California Privacy Protection Agency; the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec; your EEA supervisory authority; the UK Information Commissioner's Office; or the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.
